Books...

I have been reading lately came across this set of books by Ngaio Marsh, classic theatrical whodunits ,stories about grim damsels and aging actresses, murder and grace.
I liked these stories complicated enough to arrest my attention and easy enough to empathise with.
I like books like these... off late I was quite disenchanted with books .
I was just lost among words that held no meaning ,thoughts that did not resonate and was left with a vacant stillness within.

Sometimes I just like a steaming cup of tea and a book that weaves a simple graceful story.

Sometimes its nice to know that the "Butler could have done her in" .

Mediocrity

Mediocrity dampens,
Like a cloak inhibiting your skills,
Leaden with the weight of your incompetence,
You recede into a state of fear and incomprehension,
Cocooned in a world of your own creation you reside,
Constantly in fear of the challenge that awaits outside.

Hmm I wrote that...feeling very blue I guess. The only word I fear and loathe is mediocrity, just to always be no one and still someone.

Sredni Vashthar

Sredni Vashthar went forth ,
His thoughts were red thoughts and his teeth were white.
His enemies called for Peace, but he brought them death.
Sredni Vashtar the Beautiful.

The most cruel true and bitter story about childhood and all that it comprises.
